Rabat – Two months from now, foreign tourists will be able to benefit from two direct weekly flights from Warsaw, Poland, to Agadir.
The new service, which will begin on June 30, was announced Tuesday by Hungarian low cost company, Wizz Air. The inauguration of this new service will draw the attention of more than 18,000 travelers a year. The number of passengers is expected to increase in the future.
The new offer from Warsaw to Agadir is the result of a partnership between Wizz Air and the Moroccan National Office of Tourism (ONMT).
This project is expected to contribute to enhancing Poland tourist flows to Agadir, which amounted to a mere 47 last year. Warsaw to Agadir flights will also contribute to the identification of Morocco tourist destinations, particularly, the Souss-Massa-Draa region.
Over the last few months, ONMT has been working to strengthen its cooperation with the most important airlines including, Exin and Neckermann.
Representative of ONMT, Rachid Nassiri, told Morocco’s News Agency (MAP) that this new link between Warsaw Chopin Airport and the Massira Airport of Agadir will achieve a significant increase in Polish tourists. He added that it will also contribute to the promotion of tourist interest in these destinations.
